Sanyo Launches Portable Power Stick for Mobile Gadgets

Sanyo is shuttling its Eneloop battery technology over to the mobile backup power supply market with the introduction of its "Eneloop Mobile Booster" and "Eneloop Stick Booster" lines.

These lithium-ion batteries with USB power cords come capable of powering a variety of modern gadgets, like tablets (Apple's iPad), smartphones, and Nintendo's DS series, Sanyo says.

In rechargeable AA and AAA battery form, Sanyo's Eneloops are known for holding a charge for long periods of time when not in use, whereas traditional rechargeables tend to steadily lose their juice.

The Eneloop booster will ship in Japan in late October, with a U.S. launch yet to be determined.
