13.3 inch diagonal display with that kind of resolution has an amazing capability: true, full size high resolution of magazines and textbooks. All magazines and most textbooks use 8.5 by 11 size (which comes out to 13+ inches diagonally). Now all magazines and textbooks could be readable at their native resolution, no more using a magnifying glass app to read the caption under a photo.
Now if someone could only get this capability into a tablet, I would buy it in a second, no matter what the cost.

All that screen but neither the RAM nor the GPU power to truly take advantage of it.

Intel, please stop with your integrated GPU efforts. You just can't do it. Please stop handicapping good laptops. At this point it borders on sadistic.

I would LOVE to see a gaming laptop 17.3" screen with that kind of resolution being pushed by an nVidia GTX770 !! I just don't have any interest in a small screen notebook.

Do a side-by-side comparison of the keyboard photo with a 13" MBA...I wonder if the "BlacBook Air" here has a non-worthless trackpad as well. Back to court :P http://www.digitaltrends.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/new-macbook-air-header.jpg

I give Samsung credit for going "F___ you, Apple" and one-upping the Retina dispays. That's bidness, dawg.

why is it only $1400 ??!

— I am not sure I believe this. Almost a 4k screen (it's pretty close really!), with a svelte ultrabook chasis, touchscreen, and an SSD ... oh, and 4GB of RAM?

How in the world would one ever see the icons at that native resolution?? I'm sure it's gorgeous but damn.

Windows 8.1 includes support for high DPI screens.

That's why none of these "retina display" ultrabooks have been released yet, they need Windows 8.1 to RTM first.

Now that's alot of pixel for integrated intel graphics to push. And with that resolution on a 13.3 inch, can somebody explain to me why does the majority of laptop still have sub 1080p resolution.

I'm still trying to find the answer to that one myself :(

I want to take one of these and put it in my laptop...then watch my laptop explode.
