A new "Dual Silencer" cooling system and game bundle have been added to Zotac's GTX 680 AMP! Edition card.
Zotac on Wednesday announced a "refined" version of its GeForce GTX 680 AMP! Edition (ZT-60105-10P) graphics card, which at first we thought that meant it would come dressed in a fancy suit and speak with a British accent -- chip chip cherio and all that jazz. Even better, Zotac was referring to a new and enhanced "Dual Silencer" cooling solution and game bundle that includes Assassin's Creed III.
Without going into specifics (other than to say the design took "many months of engineering"), Zotac says its new Dual Silencer system delivers greater cooling performance at quieter noise levels, though by how much is a mystery. The previous generation GTX 680 AMP! Edition also featured a dual-fan design, but after a little digging, we discovered the new model has more fan blades (9 blades per fan versus 7 blades).
Cooling upgrade and game bundle notwithstanding, it's the same card. The GPU races along at 1,110MHz (base) / 1,176MHz (boost) and it has 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 6,608MHz on a 256-bit bus.
Zotac didn't say when the card will be available to purchase or for how much.
