VisionTek Now Makes Memory, Will Launch an SSD Line Too

VisionTek of videocard fame is getting into the business of selling high end DDR3 memory kits. It's puzzling why a company not already selling RAM would want to suddenly jump in at this point in time, but VisionTek insists it's researched the memory market with due diligence and determined that it's a solid business to get into. The company says it will "only source and sell the best memory," referencing chips with tight timings for high performance and stable parts for overclocked systems. Bring it on.

"Not a newcomer to the memory market, VisionTek is currently a contracted AMD GPU Reseller for North America and has procured over $1,000,000,000 in memory over its long history," VisionTek said in a statement. "VisionTek has opted to base its new line of DDR3 memory on premium DRAM technology with state of the art manufacturing and test process in India and the US. VisionTek has accumulated an impressive string of editorial awards for PC graphics cards, accounting for hundreds of independent products awards, and will do the same with memory."

Big words from a big company, and rather than eat them, VisionTek will attempt to back its bravado with its Ultimate Performance, High Performance, High Performance SFF, Performance, and Performance SFF kits. These kits are available in both dual-channel and triple-channel configurations, up to 12GB of capacity, and in DDR3-1333, DDR3-1600, and DDR3-1866 speed grades.

VisionTek says it plans to add additional products in the coming months, including solid state drive (SSD) solutions "made in the USA with TAA compliance." No word yet on price or availability for any of these new products.
