Fancy yourself an Android fan? If so, then the Dell Venue Pro with its highfalutin Windows Phone 7 platform never made it to your short list of potential smartphone upgrades, but there's good reason to give the non-Pro version a look. It's essentially the same smartphone in terms of build quality, but it trades Microsoft's OS for Google's Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform. More tech specs after the break.
Also gone is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard, making this a virtual-only affair. Other features and specs include a 1GHz QSD 8250 processor, 4.1-inch AMOLED screen, 8MP camera, 512MB of memory, 1GB of internal storage (expandable to 33GB via a microSD card slot), and a 1400 mAh battery.
It's available now direct from Dell for $500 in unlocked form with either AT&T or T-Mobile 3G bands.
