A victory is a victory is a victory, whether it happens here on American soil or overseas, right? And as far as that goes, Samsung can claim a win of sorts over Apple with its Galaxy S smartphones outselling the iPhone 4 in Japan last week.
Japanese market research firm BCN tallied the numbers and found that Samsung's flagship smartphone knocked the iPhone 4 32GB off its perch as the top-selling cell phone for the last week of October. That's pretty impressive when you consider that the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 models occupied the top two spots on the ranking list for the past 18 weeks. Of course, if you consolidate sales of both the 16GB and 32GB units, the iPhone 4 comes back on top, but hey, a victory is a victory is a victory, remember?
One week does not an iPhone killer make, though this certainly bodes well not only for Samsung, but for Android in general.
