Capcom on Thursday said that Resident Evil 6 is in full development and scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation game consoles on November 20, 2012, "with a PC version to follow." The newest installment in the popular zombie franchise takes place ten years since the Raccoon City incident and will see Leon and Chris come together for the first time. They will also be joined by new characters, Capcom says.
"Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series," commented Katsuhiko Ichii, Head of R&D and Global Marketing. "The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world."
Capcom began teasing the release a little over a week ago via a viral campaign on NoHopeLeft.com. Post apocalyptic images abound, right up until the final post that implores visitors to "Click the pic, it explains everything," which serves as a redirect to a Resident Evil 6 game trailer on YouTube.
