With the year not even half over yet, Panda Security is getting a jump on 2012 by releasing the next major version of its antivirus software, including Panda Internet Security 2012 for Netbooks, Panda Antivirus Pro 2012, Panda Internet Security 2012, and Panda Global Protection 2012. That's enough Pandas to fill a zoo, and one thing they all have in common is they've been especially designed to Internet users who make the most out of Web 2.0 and the digital world, Panda Security says.
As with previous Panda products, this new line of AV software relies heavily on the company's cloud-based Collective Intelligence technology.
"Every day, PandaLabs receives around 98,000 new files to analyze," Panda Security says. "Of these, some 73,000 are new malware strains that Collective Intelligence analyzes, classifies and remedies in 99.4 percent of cases. By gathering information on malware from the worldwide Panda community, Collective Intelligence continuously improves protection levels and offers more rapid response to new malware attacks."
Panda Global Protection 2012 is the security firm's flagship product designed for "highly active users." New to the 2012 release are:
New technologies to improve cloud-based scanning
Improved parental controls
Anti-spam protection with improved block rates
New URL filtering system
Personal firewall with Wi-Fi security
The 2012 products are available now online and will be landing in major stores in the next few months. You can read our review of last year's Panda Internet Security 2011 here.
