Android users got first crack at Opera Software's Opera Mini 6.5 browser, which was released last week. It was the most successful Android Opera Mini release in history with millions of downloads to date, and now Opera Mini 6.5 arrives on iOS, Symbian, J2ME, and BlackBerry. The big new feature here is the ability to audit your data usage to help make sure you don't inadvertently bust out of your wireless carrier's data cap.
"Opera Mini 6.5 will now show you exactly how much data you have spent and saved," Opera Software said in a blog post. " A dedicated page, easily accessible from the help menu inside the Opera Mini, keeps count of how much data you are spending and saving.
"The number of megabytes saved while using the Opera Mini browser can directly translate into money saved if you are roaming or on a pay-as-you-go plan for data traffic."
Opera Software also released its Opera Mobile 11.5 browser for Symbian devices, MeeGo netbooks and tablets, and Maemo. Opera Mobile 11.5 is a full browser with client-side support for JavaScript, HTML5, Flash (Android only), and more.
