After chasing gold (as in, 80 Plus Gold certification) with its HALE90 power supply series last year, NZXT is this time going after bronze. NZXT's new HALE82 power supply line is 80 Plus Bronze certified with 82 percent efficiency at 20 percent load, 85 percent efficient at 50 percent load, and 82 percent efficient at full throttle. Each HALE82 PSU is also quiet with a low-noise 120mm two-ball bearing fan, NZXT says.
NZXT claims you'll find only premium materials in its HALE82 line, including 100 percent Japanese all-solid capacitors. The units are modular and utilize a single +12V rail with up to 70 amps (850W model). HALE82 power supplies ship with a selection of flat cables for easier cable management, and include an extended 8-pin connector for use in bottom mounted cases or large towers.
"HALE82 is a great blend of high level efficiency, premium components, and safe, simple operation," said Johnny Hou, Founder and Product Manager at NZXT. "That coupled with NZXT’s game-changing PSU service program make this a truly distinct offering for enthusiasts."
The "Less Than three PSU" service program Mr. Hou alluded to is a new policy that provides customers with a pre-paid return label should their PSU become defective. NZXT will then send back a "fresh replacement."
The HALE82 series is available now in 650W ($110), 750W ($120), and 850W ($140) models.
