Gigabyte claims its new GeForce GTX 550 Ti Overclock Edition graphics card strikes just the right balance between faster clockspeeds and quiet computing. Armed with a custom cooler, the GV-N550OC-1GI, as it's named, boasts "extraordinary overclocking ability" and outpaces reference GTX 550 Ti cards by 6 percent, Gigabyte says.
The custom cooler was designed in-house and utilizes a 10cm fan with a pure copper node inside. It's virtually silent, Gigabyte says, running anywhere from 21.7-28 dBA at its loudest. It also cools 8.7 percent better than a stock heatsink/fan, the company claims.
Gigabyte's version of the Ti 550 also includes better power switching loss, two dual-link DVI-I ports, HDMI with HDCP protection, 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4200MHz on a 192-bit bus, 1940MHz shader clock, and 970MHz core clock.
