We're not going to spark a debate over consoles versus PCs (not intentionally, anyway), but without question, one of the big advantages of PC is the keyboard. Trying to type with a control pad simply stinks. The solution? Suck it up, because it comes with the territory of being a console gamer. Alternately, you can shell out for a third party peripheral. Turns out there's another way to make typing on a gamepad less painful.
It's a new character entry system for gamepads developed by Circboard. A rotating wheel on the left cycles through circles of characters, which you turn with the left thumbstick and then select with the corresponding button. And you can still use the X button to backspace, just let go of the thumbstick so it's not pointing in any direction.
Right now it's in the concept stage, but Circaboard hopes it will be picked up by game or console makers. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think.
