Chevy has something new in store for its 2012 Volt and Equinox models this fall. It's called MyLink, which you can think of as a smartphone on wheels. Building on the safety and security of OnStar, MyLink is a smart interface design that drivers can use to tap into mobile communications technology, all the while keeping their smartphones safely tucked away. Features like Pandora, Sticher SmartRadio, hands-free voice, and touchscreen controls are part of the package.
"There is a new generation of car buyers who don't want to settle for mass market radio," said Rick Schidt, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. "They want to create their own individual stations and have access to them where they are. Chevrolet vehicles have offered customers the ability to use portable media devices since 2006 and the introduction of MyLink takes media personalization to a new level."
MyLink systems will use a 7-inch, high resolution, full color touchscreen and will integrate with existing units, including AM/FM/XM tuners and CD players, Chevy says.
