If you plan on spending some quality time with the Battlefield 3 beta and aren't afraid of pre-release drivers, AMD's Catalyst 11.10 Preview package is calling your name (or Nvidia's GeForce 285.38 beta drivers, if that's the way you swing). For all other AMD videocard owners, the Santa Clara outfit just released its Catalyst 11.9 package into the wild.
Catalyst 11.9 won't improve performance in the Battlefield 3 beta, but it is supposed to resolve a hanging issue in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The new driver release is built almost entirely around fixing various bugs, from other hanging issues to misfiring pixels and other quirks.
AMD didn't map out any performance improvements associated with Catalyst 11.9, though it does add AMD HD 3D technology support on DisplayPort panels, such as the Samsung 750 and 950 series of 3D displays.
