Space saving all-in-one (AIO) desktops seem to be all the rage lately, and far be it for Acer to try and fight this trend. Just the opposite, Acer is embracing it with several new and affordable AIO models for both home consumers and business customers. For the home user, Acer trots out the 21.5-inch AZ3 Series and 23-inch AZ5 Series, while business users have a pair of new models of their own to choose from under Acer's Veriton Z Series. Let's break them down.
The AZ3 Series ($650 and up) is built around a 21.5-inch Full HD touchscreen monitor. Processor options include an AMD dual-core A4 3400 Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) clocked at 2.7GHz with 1MB of L2 cache and Radeon HD 6410D graphics. It has a 500GB SATA hard drive, 1.3MP webcam, two USB 3.0 ports (side), four USB 2.0 ports (rear), multi-format memory card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and a pair of 2.5W stereo speakers.
Acer's AZ5 ($750 and up) kicks things up a notch with a 23-inch Full HD touchscreen, Core i3 2120 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB hard drive, and Acer clear-fi technology. Otherwise it comes with the same number USB ports, webcam, and card reader as the AZ3.
On the business end, Acer introduces two Veriton Z models, the Z2620G ($850 and up) with an Intel Core i5 2400s processor and discrete Nvidia GeForce GT 520M graphics, and the Z2610G ($650 and up) with an Intel Pentium G620 processor and integrated Intel HD Graphics. Both models sport a slim chassis, 20-inch widescreen LCD display with a 1600x900 resolution, 4GB of DDR3 memory, and 500GB hard drive.
