Star Wars: The Old Republic is the youngest of younglings in the massively populated world of MMOs, but that hasn't stopped BioWare from taking a long, hard look into its future. The RPG powerhouse's verdict? The Force is strong in this one. Like, “immortal Jedi ghost” strong.
"Unlike a lot of other game companies that, once they launch a game, downsize their teams radically, our plan is to keep the team together and continue to focus on building content," creative director James Ohlen told Gamasutra. “There's no secret project currently being done in the Austin studio. We're very much focused on Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars for the foreseeable future."
"It's hard to say right now what we may or may not do as far as future projects. We're really busy working on future SWTOR content as well as continuing to improve the service. This will never end."
So, assuming the current projected cycle of “forever” holds, we'll get to meet Luke, Leia, Han, and co in TOR someday! You know, in a few thousand years. Aw, who are we kidding? That's crazy. We'll definitely cancel our subscriptions the second Jar-Jar shows up.
