If I wear latex gloves to handle PC components like videocards, processors, memory, and hard drives, do I still have to worry about static electricity?
Merely wearing gloves won’t necessarily help prevent static shock—a big static charge can build across the thin latex of the glove. It’s essential to properly ground yourself while you work on your computer to prevent static buildup. Consider wearing an anti-static wrist strap. And don’t forget: Always unplug your computer when you’re working on it.
