There's a room for another blade.

Interested in their theory. Wonder how it will work in practice. Noise is a big factor when it comes to fans and no two high-end fan sounds the same. Fans from NoiseBlocker, Noctua, Gentle Typhoon, Gelid all have different sound signatures at max speeds and what I can't stand are annoying noises some of those fans produce because of design. Of those named I've found Gelid to produce the most natural wind noise of all with virtually no motor noise.

If noise concerns you then it is a concern. For many performance is key. Incremental improvements are welcome!

Noise level is the most important thing on my PC these days, I would like to know the sound difference between a regular cooling fan and this fan.

Everyone mentions possible noise being an issue. Counter intuition tells me better directed airflow equals less noise, something borrowed from aerodynamics. Anyone here old enough to remember how loud jet airplanes used to be? They're much quieter nowadays. Well they didn't stick mufflers on em... just better designed turbines in the engines and cowlings.

Yo,Dog. We heard you like fan blades so we put blades on yo blades...

Increased drag = more noise = more power consumption = meh.

Hey.That_Dude

I have a suspicion that Phi is involved...

I wonder how this affects sound and how much the CFM/dB and CFM/$ will make it competitive or not.

Wily_One

Yeah I'd want to know what this does to the sound level.

Wait!! Where is the winglets?

Neat. Can't say I'd use them myself. If I were in the market for some aftermarket fans I would probably get some from SilverStone's AP series.

I hope MaxPC will test this like they test other cooling components. I do rely on their test results before I make purchasing decisions.

Giddy-Up!!

My Opinion Doesn't Matter.

Pretty cool if noise is not your concern.

pastorbob

Not really clear if noise would be an issue or not. I can see it going either way depending on RPM.

Vano

Usually if noise level is adequate they mention it in the description...

Sounds pretty cool (pun intended). It'll be interesting to see some actual test results. And prices as well.
