Wow. You could almost buy 2 of these PCs for the cost of one 4K monitor. There's something wrong with that, it's like a set of tires costing more than the car.

I'm not expecting this to drive down the prices of 4K monitors, sadly. Despite the hype we still can't get affordable 1440 monitors reliably.

Though once 4K takes off we'll need a time machine to go back and refilm all the 2K movies and shows lol.

This is just another high end gaming PC. Why would they advertise 4K when there is only a couple 4K monitors available. A good 4K monitor will be as expensive as the system. Time 4K is relevant, this hardware will be incapable of running the latest games.

Only people who will buy this are computer incompetent people or a kid with wealthy parents.

Wow. $2800 for a gaming PC. Maybe the doom and gloom news of the economy has dulled my enthusiasm for "Maximum."

Says at the end of the article it's entry level, but that's actually not the real price, it will cost 3000+ for the MILLENNIUM and 5000+ for the GENESIS. It's a lot more if you choose extra stuff though, better hardware, customized case, games, accessories, etc.

The cost seems a little low, I'm guessing that's the entry level price. IMO 'Maximum' isn't just about being -money-is-no-object-bleeding-edge systems, it's about making the most out of a machine, and while this rig seems pretty nice, it's far cheaper to roll your own or re-purpose one to fit your needs.

That's a good perspective... I guess the meaning of "Maximum" has evolved for me since I started reading BootPC way back in the day. Back then, I lived at home and had tons of disposable cash to spend on this stuff. It was a hobby and I wanted the latest and greatest, no matter what. Now as I"m older and have more responsibilities, I tend to spend my money more wisely and be a little more frugal... So $2800 on this PC seems a bit out of touch with me. But maybe that's a sign that I"m reading the wrong stuff these days huh? :)

It just means the definition of what Maximum is has evolved with time and need.

Not worth it. Just build your own.
