Onkyo Taps into Tegra 250 for First Android Tablet

Paul Lilly

Onkyo knows a thing or three about audio, and apparently they know something about mobile graphics, too. The company just announced its first Android 2.2 tablet -- the TA117 -- and unlike its poky predecessor, this one comes equipped with Nvidia's Tegra 250 chipset clocked at 1GHz.

It's a 10.1-inch slate with a 1024x600 resolution and comes with a pair of USB 2.0 ports, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, HDMI, a 1.3MP camera, and either 8GB or 16GB of internal memory.

So what's not to like here? It's only available in Japan with no word on when, or even if, Onkyo plans to ship this one stateside.
