an MMO that can support 1 billion people hmm... I hope they don't burn so much money on that possible failure (as all 'WoW killers' have been) and crash the VR initiative.

I was worried that FB would ruin Oculus, but it seems that so far they have given Oculus the scale they needed to really move VR forward. Too bad Zenimax did not have the vision to move the technology forward.

Don't you think we ought to wait until consumer products have been released to start praising or shunning companies for moving the technology forward? Once you strip away all the buzz and vague promises, Oculus hasn't produced anything of merit.

Yup. It's still a 25 year old tech which utterly failed the first (and second) time around. I've seen nothing from Oculus which gives me any reason to believe it will work this time, either. What they should be buying is truckloads of stabilized sand to shore up the shaky foundation of their business model.
