>>im done with this discussion...

You were done when you made your first comment. You never wanted to "discuss" anything. You just wanted to brow beat everyone else, as is your custom.

>>Two consecutive administrations (Bush - Conservative/Republican and Obama - Liberal/Democrat)

And I disagreed with both of them, as is my right as an American. I wholeheartedly support the need to catch terrorists, and thought I supported the Patriot Act when it was initially passed. That was until I understood just how broad and sweeping some of the wording was. At that point I withdrew my support and understood the disdain many (including conservatives) have for it. I further disagreed with Obama when he decided to expand it. What really puzzles me though is how so many of the liberals who hated it under Bush now support it under Obama. I firmly believe both Presidents were and are wrong. And BTW, only liberals believe the President can rule on the constitutionality of a thing.

>>as well as the Supreme court have found the patriot act constitutional.

If the Supreme Court is as emphatically behind the Patriot Act as you suppose, then explain the outcome of case United States v. Antoine Jones to me. The Supreme Court is yet to rule on PRISM, but the case I just mentioned suggests they would not find YOUR interpretation of the Patriot Act constitutional where PRISM is concerned. But go ahead and hide behind blanket generalizations and continue refusing to think about your beliefs. It's much simpler that way.

>>If you want to pretend you know better
Educated men don't have to pretend, It's your ilk that lives in fairy land.

>> you keep smoking that crack. It will serve you well later in life.

Smoking crack serves no one well. But neither does name calling when you don't have the spine to defend anything you say on the internet.

great post maximum mike

>>You people want to hold the government accountable but not this traitorous scum? That is the height of liberal hypocrisy..

I wonder if you lived a little over 200 years ago how you would have felt about a certain traitor named Paul Revere?

You also seem to be very confused here. I don't remember the last time I met a liberal who wanted to hold the government accountable for anything, and most certainly not Obama's government.

avatar

The Mac

normally i would agree, but these liberal pussies are screaming about being evesdopped on and are giving this traitor a pass.

I take issue with that.

Paul revere, when viewed from the British side was a traitor to the crown, however he was a member of an organized rebel contingent.

This assclown, not so much.

If there was a rebellion in this country, we would be having a different discussion.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
― Samuel Adams

avatar

The Mac

Yeah, because Sam Adams had electricity, telephones, and the internet in his time, and enemies of the state could instantly communicate with each other...

lol

You need a time machine my friend, so you can go live in simpler times...

The world no linger works the way it did during our founding fathers time

Thats the price we pay for technology...

avatar

kerndaddy

now everybody look at the post this mac idiot just made and tell me if you notice the sheer stupidity of the hypocrisy in his statement.

yes that's right, he quoted Aristotle, and when I quoted one of our founding fathers, he actually said that I need a time machine because the world no longer works the way it did in our founding fathers time.

did Aristotle have electricity, telephones, and the internet? do you need a time machine too? are you just an idiot? allow me to answer that third one for you. YES, yes you are.

avatar

limitbreaker

Lol that's hilarious, perfect example of someone who will say anything to win an argument wether he believes it or not him self. Calling out hypocrites is hilarious! Classic republican hypocrisy.

avatar

MaximumMike

Hypocrisy is endemic to the human race as a whole, regardless of political affiliation. You are a classic example.

avatar

limitbreaker

You're right about that mike, sorry for my jab against republicans but it was only in response to "That is the height of liberal hypocrisy.."

avatar

The Mac

not sure about this one, who are you calling out?

i think kerndaddy is a liberal.

If you were referring to me, see below.

avatar

Carlidan

And you he's a liberal by? If you did a survey today about the patriot act. I would think most people think it was the wrong way to go. Stop thinking liberals are enemies.

avatar

The Mac

I dont, i just think they are misguided.

I agree with most of the patriot act.

avatar

The Mac

The law does not require electricity.

The defense of our country does.

The fact that that did not occur to you pretty much cements in my mind you have the IQ of a peanut.

avatar

Carlidan

At least liberals have an IQ.
Conservatives have none. Nor do they have a brain. :P

avatar

The Mac

ad hominim? really?

Thats beneath you Carlidan, i expect better.

(You know im Blkpanthr, right? they deleted my user name, this is the new one)

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty-odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they're telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill

A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

avatar

The Mac

Whether you agree with the governments methodology or not, it doesn't change the fact that this guy revealed classified information.

He is a criminal, and will most likely be tried and convicted under the espionage act.

He better find a place they cant extradite him from. Hong Kong is not good enough.

avatar

Bullwinkle J Moose

Oh, hey yeah...I see your point

The next time criminals in the Gov't violate Local, State, Federal and International Laws and treaty's, just tell everyone that anyone proving you committed a crime is the real criminal

It's like when you attack an innocent individual in the workplace and they call the cops on you....

You just label them a snitch at work and a liar to the police

Good one!

You should work for the Dept of Human Rights

avatar

The Mac

Two wrongs do not make a right.

It changes nothing, he is a traitor and a criminal and will be held accountable for his actions.

avatar

Ninjawithagun

Regardless of your ignorance and lack of understanding as to what exactly has happened here, let me assist you. Edward Snowden took an oath to defend the Constitution and the United States of America. He also signed an agreement when he received his security clearance that states he understands the responsibilities and liability that goes with this trust and that violation of this trust by disclosing any classified information, knowingly or unknowingly is subject to criminal prosecution. Guess what? That's right. He broke that oath he took and he violated the agreement he signed. Not to mention he has endangered the lives of a lot of people both within and outside of his agency. This is not about politics and agendas to justify what he did and try to make it right. He is wrong in every way for what he did and deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law. People must be held accountable for their actions, else integrity and justice will never prevail.

avatar

Jacker

Ninja is the biggest SHEEP here! Mr Snowden gave up his six figure salary to inform the American people of the increasing US tyranny government. The US is becoming a police state. The ruling elite runs America not the people anymore...they want our guns and little freedoms we have left so they can keep forever controlling us as they see fit.

Even this message I write will be used against me one day. Just added to my NSA profile.

Time to wake up people. Evil men are gaining ground and taking over...

avatar

The Mac

Since you know this, what kind of fool does that make you for posting anyway?

The number of borderline communist liberals on here is staggering..

If you dislike this country so much, move elsewwhere...we dont want your kind here anyway...

avatar

MaximumMike

Dude... what you're advocating advances the cause of the "communist liberals" that want to destroy this country. The fact that you want to mislabel anyone who disagrees with their tactics as a "communist liberal", tell me that you are disingenuous at best.

avatar

The Mac

im not sure how my wish prosecuting a criminal traitor is advocating anything..

I dont necessarily agree with the eavesdropping stuff, but that does not change the fact that this piece of excrement has revealed state secrets...

avatar

Jacker

My kind fights for freedom! Your kind gives it away!

avatar

The Mac

Your kind throws rocks, then hides when the guys with the guns show up.

Just like this asshat, and just like that bag-of-dicks Assange cretin.

avatar

Bullwinkle J Moose

Why is THIS news?

He is simply confirming what I have been saying for years

avatar

praetor_alpha

It's news because he leaked documents. While we've "known" and "been saying" it for years, it's not rumors and speculation anymore.

avatar

Bullwinkle J Moose

WE DO NOT SPY ON AMERICANS !!!!!!!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2013/06/06/nsa-chief-two-weeks-ago-were-the-only-ones-not-spying-on-the-american-people/

http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/06/06/watch-top-u-s-intelligence-officials-repeatedly-deny-nsa-spying-on-americans-over-the-last-year-videos/

The same "We are not spying on Americans" crap was on record in Senate hearings

avatar

warptek2010

This guy is a hero indeed. He may have screwed up his entire life, at least for the foreseeable future anyway. Anyone who believes the government isn't using this data, it's just "collecting" it is a cretin.
I've always suspected the NSA has not only a supercomputer in its employ but the most powerful in the world to sift through just such data. Also, anyone who believes that a supercomputer that can crunch numbers in the petaflop range can't break 256 bit AES encryption through sheer brute force methods alone seriously needs to rethink that position.

avatar

warptek2010

Duplicate post. Stupid loading advert getting in the way again.
MAXIMUM PC, Can you please effing fix this????????????????????????????

avatar

praetor_alpha

I have firefox and noscript. what are you talking about?

avatar

kerndaddy

yes, having a post erased because of a constant bombardment of advertisements is HIGHLY annoying.

avatar

nightkiller

"I may object to what you say (or do) but I will defend to the death your right to be punished for it."

avatar

Eagle70ss

Some people didn't know all this was going on already? Seriously? America was turned to a police state long ago...along with the UK/Europe.

avatar

Biceps

There is already a petition on whitehouse.gov to pardon him. There is another petition to repeal the Patriot Act; both only have thousands of signatures already, but need to make it to 100,000 in 30 days to get an official response.

avatar

praetor_alpha

There is another on there to force Obama to resign.

avatar

stradric

Fortune favors the bold, and that's pretty damn bold. Good for him. He bought himself some time while he can write his best seller.

Honestly though, this whole wiretapping story wasn't much of a revelation. We made our bed. We the People are mostly to blame for this outcome whether we like it or not. It's leaks like this, though, that cause more people to wake to the fact that, while ugly, the world of politics is not something that should be ignored.

avatar

USraging

It take a lot of courage to stand up against something that you think is wrong. He has pissed off some powerful people and i hope going public extenze his life...

avatar

kerndaddy

this guy is an American hero.

avatar

Jacker

Don't mind the other comments. The sheep are loyal to their masters.

avatar

kerndaddy

that they are jacker.

avatar

The Mac

as are the liberal lemmings, willing to follow any bozo with an agenda as long as they dont have to pay for it, and it takes them away from their dreary insignificant little life for a while...

shouldn't you be protesting on public property somewhere and expecting the government to foot the bill?

avatar

Ninjawithagun

This guy is a traitor. Let's see how much you would trust him with your secrets...never mind, he already told them to me...lmao.

avatar

pastorbob

"this guy is an American hero."

B.S.! He is a traitor and is yet one more example of the situational ethics that has permeated our society.
