Does Kingston List Actual speeds on their SSD's and thumbdrives?

I'm tired of buying thumbdrives rated at 2 - 3X their actual read/write speeds

Silicon Power and PNY rate their speeds more than double what end users actually see

Are their any really fast USB3 thumbdrives that match the advertised speeds?

You guys should have at least 10 different brands by now

TELL US Who is honest and who is not!

It's getting expensive for end users to test their Corporate honesty

Are Kingstons rated speeds honest?
How about Corsair?

I can't afford to guess anymore

If you guys are afraid of losing advertising revenue over the topic, at least give us a list of brands that list the actual speeds that end users are actually seeing with actual test data (No Synthetic Tests) and don't even mention the bad apples

Mr. Moose...Some of the best brands for thumb drives as far as reliability and actual tranfer rates are Corsair, Kingston, and Sandisk. These have been the best in my experience.

As far as Silicon Power...I've never even heard of these guys, and PNY has always made junk. Sandisk and Kingston have always been my personal favorites as I've never had any issues with any of their memory. I have a Sandisk SSD, Multiple Sandisk USB Drives and have been through many sets of Kingston RAM, all have performed excellently.

Thanks

Are the advertised speeds what you are actually seeing?

Or close enough?

I was thinking about getting this Mushkin Enhanced Ventura Ultra untill the latest reviews began popping up with thermal throttling issues

Between the Corsair, Kingston and Sandisk, which one maintains it's speed the best during large transfers?

VERDICT - 8

----------
----------
Herb Tarlek
----------

- Decent SSD & DDR4 discussion

- good presentation from the Kingston guys

- encoded at non-ridiculous bitrate (128) for a change

- No Gordon rant

Willie Loman
----------

- No Gordon

- WAY too many "you know"s from main Kingston guy

- mostly a Kingston AD (big surprise)

- Kingston really didn't answer SSD "bait & switch" question and no follow-up questions from Jimmy or Tom. Where is Gordon when you need someone to dig deeper?

- Too many "that's a great question" responses from Kingston guy

- I waited a MONTH for this??

---------
---------
Pros
---------

- I enjoyed the SSD and DDR4 discussion but somewhat silly to talk about DDR4 prices since they really aren't available yet, and everyone knows it will be at least 50% higher than DDR3 until AMD and non-enthusiasts Intel motherboards support it.

- I wonder why THREE Kingston guys were needed but they did sound fairly knowlegable specifically on their products and in SSD/DDR4 in general.

- Podcast was short and mostly to the point.

- No rant!!

---------
---------
Cons
---------

- Mostly an non-answer to the SSD "bait and switch". No apology for being caught using different memory which does make a difference even if the net result is the same SSD speed. Kingston sounded like they were beggars on the street looking for whatever memory it could get.. a lot like OCZ in the day!!

- Main Kingston guy needs some public speaking lessons.. way too many "you knows" and saying "great question" four times is a sign of either stalling for an answer and makes the person sound unsure about the answer. Instead, he should just go straight into the answer, which is more concise and impressive. Sorry but NONE of those questions were GREAT.. necessary.. yes.. predictable.. yes.. but not GREAT!!

- The podcast has turned into the "Maximum QVC" podcast. There is never any discussion about what is INSIDE the magazine.. EVER!! It has morphed into something not much different than what Paul does on Newegg.TV. Can't do regular podcasts AND make these AD podcasts as "specials"??

----------

This wasn't a bad episode but.. it isn't my Dad's "NO BS Podcast".. or even mine!! I get it.. the podcast is NOW about vendors hawking their wares because it is ALL about the magazine & Facebook page, and you all have no time to do a bi-weekly podcast that involves any type of pre-recording prep. Doesn't matter that for YEARS, the podcast was weekly but that ended like three years ago. Josh gave it some temporary new life but he is gone back to the cats. I guess I should be grateful MPC actually records something WHENEVER. I am at the point of not caring.

From what I've heard, the Kingston Hyper X is one of the headsets that actually doesn't totally suck in terms of sound quality. So, not bad.
