That ASUS HD 7770 is a good little card for 1680x1050 gaming. I have one paired with a Phenom II X4 955 in a secondary rig and it handles most newer games on medium/high settings (or one notch below max settings - whatever those may be in a game). I know somesay the 2GB of VRAM in a card like that is wasted, but in Skyrim it will use over 1GB with the HD textures even at my resolution with a mix of high/ultra settings.

1680*1050? Why are you rocking that old-school, 16:10 resolution? Anyhow, thanks for pointing out the capabilities of the card. I find myself too often disregarding any Radeon that isn't at least a "x8xx" or equivalent, even though the stock version of this 7770 appears to blow past the 6870 on many tests.

I agree about the VRAM. I have a 6850 xfire setup that I'm thinking of pairing with my old 955. In theory that setup beats out a 7950 but I'm worried that the setup might be phased out before its time due to only having 1 GB of VRAM/card.

Like I said, its a secondary rig - pieced it together from old hardware and the monitor is a nice old 22" HP that I've had for about five years. The HD 7770 2GB is the newest part in it.
