Does anyone know if I bought that WD external drive and pulled the hard drive out the enclosure to use it as internal drive in a computer and then it failed, will it be accepted for warranty as a normal internal drive?

No they won't. I had an old WD Mybook I did that with, and when I called for service they knew the serial was an external.

Oddly, WD used to give 3 year internal Warranties and 1 year external, I was trying to take advantage of that when the drive died 2 years in.

Toshiba external drive right? Don't bother, who knows what drive is inside. For the same amount of money you can get a 3TB internal drive at 7,200 RPM, 64MB cache, and SATA 6 connection:
Search Google on ST3000DM001 (or just go to Amazon).

Hmmm, that little black box with the Western Digital logo sure doesn't look like an ASRock mobo. That should be fixed.

Now Newegg is going to have flash sales, y'know like Amazons gold box, good for an hour or two or until they sell out. Keeps you going to the site to check out what is for sale. Impulse buying at its worst. I don't give a damn about the price unless I was going to buy it in the first place. I rarely am an impulse buyer.
