NEC Announces 23-Inch MultiSync EX231Wp Display

Pulkit Chandna

NEC’s MultiSync EX family of ultra-slim displays now has a new 23-inch member . Actually, the EX231Wp is more like an identical twin of the EX231W. A twin that somehow evaded eviction from mother NEC’s womb for almost eight months after its brother came out. Just because they look alike does not mean that there are no differences.

While the most significant difference between the two is not the additional “p” in the new model’s name, it does have a lot to do with the extra character. The “p” in EX231Wp denotes the use of a PVA panel. The EX231W on the other hand features a TN panel. As a result, the EX231Wp offers better overall image quality and wider viewing angles.

Panels aside, the only other notable difference between the two 23-inch full HD displays is that the EX231Wp has a power consumption rating of only 27W compared to its elder brother’s 31W.
