NEC today introduced a new addition to AccuSync Series of value-driven desktop monitors, the 24-inch AS241W. The new panel joins the AS171, AS192, AS191WM, and AS221WM displays and shares some similar traits with its brethren, but it's the only one in the line to sport a 16:9 aspect ratio. NEC's other AccuSync models are split between square screens and 16:10 displays.

"The AS241W is our first 24-inch 16:9 display in the AccuSync family, a popular size with the great features our SMB customers need for daily tasks," said Lynn Gu , Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions. "Many customers have moved to wide-format screens because of their ability to allow the viewing of multiple applications simultaneously. This practice is proven to increase productivity in the workplace."

NEC's newest panel boasts a slim and light design, Full HD 1920x1080 native resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio (typical), 300 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time, DVD-D and VGA inputs, user-friendly On Screen Display (OSD) controls, tilt adjustability, and an Eco Mode with a carbon footprint meter.

The AS241W will be available this month for $239 with a 3-year limited parts and labor warranty.
