MSI Rolls Out X-Slim Series X460 and X460DX Laptops

Paul Lilly

Remember when thin and light laptops were underpowered machines incapable of all but the most basic of tasks? Neither do we, not since the deluge of ultraportables with Core i5/i7 guts and other modern amenities, like USB 3.0. Both of these technologies have been shoved into MSI's X460 and X460DX, the newest additions to the company's X-Slim Series of notebook computers.

The 14-inch X460 and X460DX measure less than an inch thick and weigh about 4.3 pounds. The systems come packed with an Intel Core i5 2410M (X460) or i7 2630QM (X460DX) processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, 500GB/640GB/750GB hard drive, DVD burner, two USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 2.0 port, 4-in-1 memory card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, GbE LAN, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI, VGA, and Windows 7.

Both laptops are Intel Wireless Display ready, allowing you to beam content to your living room HDTV without fear of family members tripping over messy wires and knocking your laptop down.
