MSI Announces Quad-Core GE620DX Gaming Laptop

MSI continues to flesh out its gaming laptop line, the newest entry being the 15.6-inch GE620DX notebook with an Intel Core i7 2630QM processor clocked at 2GHz, GeForce GT 555M graphics with 2GB of dedicated video memory, and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. On the outside, MSI looks to impress with a brushed metal finish adorned by the "MSI" logo in luminescent white script.

Other specs include:

  • 1366x768 screen resolution
  • 320GB/500GB/750GB hard drive (5400RPM/7200RPM)
  • DVD burner (optional Bu-ray reader)
  • Two USB 3.0; USB 2.0; Multi-card reader
  • 4-channel Premium Sound speakers; THX TruStudio Pro
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi; Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR; GbE LAN
  • 6-cell battery
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

As with most MSI systems, the GE620DX features a handful of proprietary technologies, including the company's GPU Boost that automatically switches back and forth between the discrete graphics and integrated GPU based on load.
