I want a surface pro but with a 13" screen and a new Haswell i5-4570S and drivers for the pen that work.

Jackson. although Timothy`s blog is impressive... on sunday I got themselves a Alfa Romeo after earning $6968 this last 4 weeks and-just over, ten-grand last-munth. it's actualy the most-financially rewarding Ive had. I started this six months/ago and straight away was making over $71, per-hr. I use this web-site, > ---- WEP6.COM

Back at the original price point, I stated that this would be enticing if it came with the keyboard for that price. Well now with this price point you can get both for the orig price, so I guess I have to stick by my original statement.

Only thing is that since time has passed, other options have come out as others have stated. I haven't done any research so I can't say one way or the other, but this now sounds like something I'd seriously compare against others if I were looking for a full PC in tablet form.

I dunno, people still seem to be slating this thing and saying they can pick up a better deal elsewhere but never seem to provide exactly where and what. From my research I can't seem to find a similar spec'ed tablet/convertible laptop for a similar price with the same features.

Best you'll find is the Lenovo Twist.

$24 more but you get a much better deal than the Surface Pro.

Not if you want to draw. Try to find a better pen tablet than the Surface Pro.

Most of them are happy with a crippled OS like Android or iOS and so they can get a better tablet price for their needs but not a tablet better than the pro.

If Microsoft can bundle the Pro version with the good keyboard for a price point between 600 and 700 they just might have something.

Nope.

In a word, no.

I can pick up a convertable laptop with an i5 for $700. You see where I'm going with this Microsoft? FAIL.

Hey Chad,

Where from? Serious question. The only one I could find was a Lenovo Thinkpad twist and that came with an i3 rather than an i5 at around $700 (the cheapest place i could find).

Unless Newegg had it wrong yesterday, the lenovo twist I looked at had an i5 and was $700. Wouldn't be the first time Newegg posted incorrect specs.

Thinkpad X220 series is convertable. You can hit that pricepoint.

Bundle a keyboard and lop another $200 off that price and they'll be flying off the shelves, guaranteed.

Of course, if you take the $100 discount you don't get a bundled $100 keyboard. Weak.
