Really you have Microsoft and Apple, thank god I do not only have Apple as a choice. I use Microsoft outlook and will be venturing into the office 2013, office 365, exchange environment in 2014. Don't worry Microsoft is making money and 5 years from now we will probably be seeing Apple heading the way of Blackberry. They just are not innovating anymore and Sheep will not be breeding as much

You are connected to the internet, right?... "Google Inc. reported consolidated revenues of $14.89 billion for the quarter ended September 30, 2013, an increase of 12% compared to the third quarter of 2012."

Nope, no internet here in googleville. It is just that things get a little too pro-Google around here sometimes and these numbers point out that MS isn't doing so bad and ...... (you know)

Hey they just reorganized! Throw in accounting tricks! Windows (8) revenue down! Windows (7) Pro up! Raise business fees! Sell existing Surface in fire sales! Forcing Ballmer out! Force Office upgrades! Twist this and that!

LOL! Just more Microsoft spin ... I mean doing business! Next month they'll be claiming Win8.1 is selling faster than any OS ever. Just another day in the M$/Wall Street world! LOL!

Nice work, Microsoft. Windows 8.1 doing well for home users and Windows 7 Pro perfect for businesses.

Yeah, Windows 8 has sent MS into a free-fall... of profitability.

Paul, Typo. "Microsoft announced that Windows Pro" You mean Windows 8 Pro, right?

avatar

Paul_Lilly

No, not a typo. It was pulled straight from the press release, and it's not clear if that also includes Windows 7 Professional or not. Here's what it says, though:

"Windows OEM revenue declined 7%; Windows Pro revenue grew for the second consecutive quarter."

its not a typo he mean't pro revenue, its a tablet form of the operating system apparently. apparently like window starter revenue. its license key type. i know, it confuses the hell out of me too until i gave some thought. its a license type (windows home, ultimate, professional, windows media center edition) does it make sense now?

Searching for Windows Pro pops up the Surface a lot so I am assuming that is indeed the answer, but the op sys on the tablet is NOT called Windows Pro. Who knows? they are making money, tho, so that's good.
