This thing looks like it's about 10 years old. I was under the assumption that All-in-ones were popular because of their style... If that really is the case, this thing failed. Failed big. Nice specs though.

Wow, given the right attention this thing could start something big!

I can definitely appreciate the amount of power and upgradability they're putting into this thing. I just don't think the all-in-one feature is worth $1,000. The multiple power plugs are definitely a turn-off, but other than the lack of an IPS, this beats the logo off any iMac.

I love the idea of an All in One, simple and less clutter and cables. I have owned one in the past a Gateway several years ago. Fast forward to the future. I do not like this design because of the 3 power plugs, defeats the purpose of simplicity and less cables. The best All In One out right now is the Apple Imac with a 680gtx option. The Hp Z would be awesome if they could add gtx nividea graphics but it is hampered by workstation graphics. I am actually going to make the best 30 inch All in One available. Here is how. I start with my 30 inch high res Dell monitor, I set my monitor on top of a flat Zvox speaker for awesome sound. Now the Genius part. I add none other then a Maingear Potenza sff computer behind the monitor. I am going to have it sit on a stand I attach to the wall behind the monitor. Now the Potenza will be invisible behind my huge monitor. There you go the most powerful All in One in the World! The Potenza has the smallest footprint you can buy with Godlike power, easiest to hide behind the monitor and the cables coming out the top is an advantage when placed behind a monitor. Now I just have to talk to the owner of Maingear about a little discount on that Potenza!!

I searched everywhere on Apple's website for the iMac 680GTX edition, but I couldn't find it. Is it a special order that you can't get through the website, Apple store, or Apple partner stores? Is it something you can add in after?

I meant the apple is a 680mx version. Still the Apple is the best All in One you can buy right now with a high res 27 inch screen and a 680m video card and for apple the price is reasonable. I think Dell and other companies will have a competitive or better All In one to Apple later this year. The Main gears main shortcoming to me is the 3 power cords vs the size. No the Perfect All in one does not exist yet. Pc, 680m or better but the Main Gear is on the right track.

The graphics cards aren't upgradable in the iMacs. On the website, it's under the highest priced iMac, the 3.2 i5, the card upgrade is labeled GTX 680MX. The difference seems to be a slightly lower clock speed to keep heat down. Ignoring that, the iMac is still priced at $2,700 if you want a slower i7, and are able to install the hard drive and RAM upgrades yourself. The fact that the model in this article is pushing hard drive accessibility and upgradability instead of form factor earns big points over the iMac.

Yeah I see now. The 680MX, I guess that's the mobile version. The iMac is pricey, but the built in monitor is epic. $2700 minus $1000 for the monitor is still an excellent value.
