I implore the CFIUS to torpedo this deal swiftly and brutally, like the US sub did to the Chinese carrier in 24:Live Another Day.

So it's worse to give this technology to China?

Or worse to allow the united states government (especially the NSA, and even the referenced FBI mentioned in this article) to use technology against every single adult citizen, no probable cause, n need for useless items like the american constitution?

As a combat veteran, I trust China more than the american government

Giving China more of our technology is bone-headed, especially if that same technology will be used in our government. That'd be a technological Fifth Column/Trojan Horse.

Few people are going to have negative thoughts towards you for questioning the US government. But to say you trust the Chinese government more than the US government is absurd. Put your money and your life where your mouth is, go move to China.

So move there.

Sure seems like americans have a lit of negative pinions lately.

Maybe it's because of the events in Iraq. After all America has been fighting with Iraq since 1990; unable to ever achieve a real victory or stability. Then a group of a few thousand is able to take over one half of the country within days. Oops NSA didn't notice that one.

All of the fighting all over the Iraq region; all for nothing. All the blood lost and lives lost - for nothing.

...And the founding fathers agreed that... Only cowards give up on a fight to pull up stake and move elsewhere. Or is it the cowards that fail to put up a fight against what remains in america.

The US was more than able to achieve a real victory or stability but it continually chose not to for political reasons, from Dubya's "double take" with Falujah to the current guy's perpetual screwups. :(

Still no reason to give China a tech boost (seems that shady deals with the US and IP theft are the only ways that they get ahead) and a free pass right into the heart of our government's computer networks.

"For the deal to go through, Lenovo will have to convince the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) that it won’t allow the acquisition (it’s second largest till date) to be used by the Chinese to compromise the security of IBM’s many high-profile clients, which include the likes of the Pentagon and the FBI."

Oh, I'm certain this is all above board....

But if this does go through, it stands as proof positive of China's influence over our elected officials, a la Clinton & Hong Kong:
