Problem with this is they will probably be really boring titles kids don't want to play. It's more important that you are there with kids I think than the content they're playing. Me and my almost 3 year old do colors and shapes on Forza, you don't need tailored games to them if you're engaged in their learning.

He is totally uninterested in the kid centered apps and toys I get him, he wants to play what he sees me doing. So we make sure we are teaching him something while he plays.

Whatever happened to just letting the kids play outside?

... Though I guess there are legitimate concerns there. But still.

There are great indoor activities like Lego (the real physical ones) that improve hand eye coordination for children all while helping them be more creative with their imagination. I'm sure minecraft can do both but it also disconnects them from the real world. The last thing we need is to bring tech zombie syndrome to younger kids than my generation.

As a kid, I couldn't get enough of video games. My parents always complained that I wanted to play games too much. I always thought, "I'm going to let my kids play as much as they want!". No kids yet, but when I play with my nieces and nephews, video games/iPads are the last thing I want them to do. They enjoy Lego thankfully. I hope that my push to do other things gets through.

That's funny, it was exactly like that for me too, I even kept my Favorite SNES games so that one day I can pay them with my kids. Lol I still have them now but only for nostalgias sake. I think we'll be much better at keeping our kids away from getting too addicted. :-)
