All of the terrible marketing decisions and what seems like Microsoft's continued efforts to pad its pockets while simultaneously stiffing its entire fan base has soured me to Xbox as a whole. I don't even use my 360 anymore. I wouldn't buy an XBone now even if they offered it as a free replacement.

So you have to be 4.5 feet back? My kid's living room (off at school) isn't that big between the couch and TV. If it was wall mounted maybe. But tiny rooms still aren't going to work.

Still, no. Because even though you could use the Xbone without K, you can't buy it without it... And that's one thing I never even got with the 360. But I'm still more of a PC gamer anyhow. Still was looking at the consoles. If I get one right now, the Sony is far more attractive even though I'm not a big Sony fan either.

amazon has my plastic and it will be on its way soon. The whole thing, Kinect and all cost less then my pc's Graphics card. Price isn't an issue.

I've never owned a console and I never will, but for those who like them I guess the MS version is as good as any.

I would, however, be interested in a Kinect connected to my PC. Maybe I wouldn't need to buy a touchscreen monitor.

On my PC I can disconnect my webcam, and it isn't really required for doing anything on my PC other than strictly video conferencing and recording...
On the XBone, however...
no thanks.

Kinect isn't required to run the Xbox one, that's direct from MS weeks ago.

Maybe if they build these console correctly like with no bugs or red ring & overheating but yes i would buy one, i mean com-on it's a fixed hardware build it right. the best plan for buying a next gen console is to wait 1 year then buy it.

IDK, man: I got the 360 a couple of weeks after launch and I really enjoyed sending six of them back under warranty. All that time away from a console that I paid for gave me the free-time I needed to read the bible and erect soapboxes on local street corners. Also got a lot of knitting done too.

You can get a stand or even mount it to the top of your television.

Does someone still use kinect ? No really ? I know people who use Wii but most people i know use xbox 360 with gamepad not kinect . I don't know maybe they got tired of waiving hands and such....

I gave my Wii away as my new Kinect is preordered. The new Kinect works as it should with voice command and motion.

no, i will not buy one, ps4 is where its at (after the pc that is)

Paying more for those useless gamepad features seems a lot more justifiable, eh? And it can't function without a camera. That's pretty much buying a device that does not have any batteries included.

avatar

Hey.That_Dude

And over paying for under-powered hardware sounds perfectly justifiable too, eh?
Sony can change the camera requirements. Microsoft can't change the chip. That's the cut and dry of it.

:D It depends how the games are programmed. If the devs are unable to harness all that power, it is useless.

I am trolling you! There is no right side here, it's a personal preference :)

Hey.That_Dude

In short: No I will not purchase the Xbox One.
