Can we really ever trust Kingston again, though?

More like "why are memory companies still putting on useless heat spreaders?" No really. RAM doesn't eat up that much power to generate enough heat to need one.

I'll put my two cents in and say because they look cool... Seriously, I know they don't really make a difference, but heck, my case has a side panel window with custom sleeving and water cooling loop. Would I really want to look at some plain boring green PCB eye-sore next to everything else that looks super sleek and aesthetically pleasing? Plus, most companies have made it so it only cost maybe a few dollars more, if anything at all, to get them with a heat spreader installed than to not have one at all. I actually like to look at my custom built hard work and enjoy it when I'm finished :) just my thoughts.

Because they are catering to the crowd that wants "looks cool".

If you look at the statistics, RAM that looks more aggressive is generally twice as fast as RAM with the same frequency and timings.

I thought this was common knowledge people.

Can't tell if serious or sarcastic...

I was thinking the same thing.

I suppose that's also the same crowd that keeps companies like Razer in business.

Not all Razer products are garbage, but I get your point.
