Oops this was supposed to be in response to the convo below.

I also got an HD+ And while I did put CM10 on my old Nook color, I am not going to for now at least on my Nook HD+ Once I got Nova launcher from the play store on it, I find the UI much smoother and faster, and it looks and behaves just like it was running the stock jelly bean. No rooting or dual boot SD card required.

OR...they could be trying to compete with the NOOK HD+ which dropped it's price back in June to $149.

I almost got a Fire HD 8.9 a few months back, then the Nook HD+ went on sale. It doesn't have a camera, but it does have external SD card storage, which I like. I put CM 10.1 on it. The UI is kinda sluggish, and the screen smudges easily, but it's a great tablet for the money.

Agreed. I got one back in June with the price drop and am very pleased with it. Really like the external storage and could care less about it not having a camera. I have a phone and a real camera for that.

I'm not really up on tablet OS's though - mind me asking how you loaded up CM 10.1?
