I have all the parts ready for a new Haswell E build. The only things missing are the motherboard, processor and ram. But will it be worth the wait? Other MB manufacturers are showcasing X99 boards, but nothing yet from Asus. Strange. After finally reading the specs on the Haswell E procs, I am quite disappointed, to say the least. Such a tough call on my part, I really want to replace my aging E8500 system.

Wondering if this chipset is 2011,or 1150, or some other iteration using the Haswell (22nm).?

I'm so split between Haswell Refresh and and Haswell-E...Guess I'll wait until the refreshed K's and E are released after all.

No SATA Express support?

Meh.

That what I was wondering. Is there even a SATA express SSD out yet that can use it?

I'd wait for actual performance numbers before succumbing to buyer's remorse. :3

Also DDR4 is brand spanking new, so there's bound to be kinks that need ironing out.

Dam, I just bought a Asus X79 Rampage IV black edition couple months ago, should have waited.

I also just bought an Asus X79 Rampage IV black edition but don't mind.. Mine policy is to wait for two or three generations between upgrades. ;)

Nothing wrong with X79 and current high end DDR3 memory. It's as fast as you're gonna get right now and DDR4/X99 is still months away, and likely only 'slightly' faster.

You can't say that. If you kept waiting for the next big thing, you'd never upgrade.
