Is it just me or is the Slate 7 Extreme a re-branded Tegra Note? It even has the stylus support...

Screen res is too low for me to use as a portable media player. These things have more than 4x the screen size of my phone but don't even have twice its screen resolution.

I do see that HP remembered the microSD slot, something Google has forgotten about. Amazon has ripped off Microsoft's tablet ad campaign, Google has ripped off Apple's device storage setup...it's a cycle of suck, for the consumer.

Seriously? You are worried about the resolution on at 7" tablet? Come on man, if you want to watch HD at 1080p or better go watch on a tv. On a 7" tablet the visual difference is negligible. As for the SD slot, it's not really needed in the first place but it is good HP decided to toss it in. What were you expecting exactly for the price tag on this? If you want 1080p on a tablet, then shell out the bucks for it. Don't complain about a $150 dollar tablet lacking higher end features.

Agreed. this thing is already floating pretty close to the break-even point on hardware costs, and that doesn't account for the slave-wages they're paying the lil foxconn workers. You really want them to throw in a gold-plated toilet too?

$150 is still too much for a garbage Tegra3 tablet.

The $200 "Extreme" isn't that well speced either. Tegra4 isn't any faster than Snapdragon 600/800 devices yet it has absolutely horrible battery life. Just look at the new ASUS TF701. You're better off with a Nexus 7.

Oh and that $300 10" "HD" tablet? That CPU only has 2 Cortex A9 cores. How very 2011 of you HP.

They all have garbage ass displays, are laughably underpowered and too expensive. WTF are you thinking HP?

This would be great to replace my aging Playbook, and at 200 dollars for the one I'm wanting, this is a steal.

Pretty sharp deals given the price points. That may be why they're not crowing about them it may not be a sustainable deal. I wish the basic 7" had more than a gig ram, but still, it's useable for most basic android stuff. Now if I just had the spare cash

Why did they give the Slate10 a way slower processor? If anything, I'd say that's why they're being shy about the new devices.

That one is ok, if I hadn't bought my low-end 10" Toshiba last year I would buy this 10" for sure. The odd one to me is the 4th option, it should have been a high end 10" tablet.

They should've kept on developing PalmOS some more instead of letting go to waste. Heck, I was all set to buy the HP/ Palm Pre 3 for Verizon until they announced that the ecosystem is no more.
