Handy Website Helps Compare Processors Like a "CPUBoss"

Paul Lilly

CPUBoss aims to make it easy to search for and compare CPUs.

Do you know which is the overall better buy between an Intel Core i7 3770K and AMD FX 8350? If shopping mobile devices, do you know how Nvidia's Tegra 3 stacks up against Texas Instruments' OMAP 4 (4470)? We live and breathe technology and it's literally our job to know the answer to those types of questions, but if you have better things to do than sit around all day and study processor technologies, you might find CPUBoss.com a helpful site the next time you're in the market for a system, big or small.

CPUBoss is a new website with a simple mission: Provide a dead simple way to search and compare processors. Whether you're in the loop, out of the loop, or feeling downright loopy from all the processor technologies in the wild, CPUBoss wants to help.

"We’ve created a super easy way to search for and compare processors so that the next time you or your readers want to read up on a CPU, we can do the legwork by gathering processor specs, benchmarks, and reviews together in one central page. We've built some pretty cool tech to do this," CPUBoss told Maximum PC in an email.

Some of the things you can do on the website:

  • Search for the best CPUs by criteria (e.g. performance or best value)
  • Show head to head comparisons between CPUs with the pros/cons of each
  • Summarize CPU features and benchmark data in a visual, easy to read format
  • Aggregate key snippets of CPU reviews from across the web in one place
  • See what CPUs are powering mobile devices, desktops, servers, and laptops

Determining the best value is tricky business, but we like that CPUBoss breaks things down into categories so you can draw your own conclusion, in case it differs from theirs.

In any event, the site went live today. Give it a glance and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
