Here's something you probably never came across before. Habey, a company that specializes in embedded computers and digital signange products, announced its new 12-inch 'Touchscreen Intel Dual Core Atom Ion Panel PC,' or PPC-6512 for short. It's basically a nettop with a 12-inch 16:9 touchscreen that can also be hooked up to an external display via VGA or HDMI with a maximum resolution of up to 2560x1600.

In and around the PPC-6512 sits an Intel Atom D525 processor (1.8GHz), Nvidia Ion 2 graphics with 512MB of dedicated video memory, 2GB of DDR3 memory (SODIMM), 1.3MP webcam, TV tuner, two mini-PCI-E slots with support for half and full mini-PCI-E cards, a serial port, four USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, LAN, 2.5-inch removable hard drive tray, and support for Windows XP/7 Home/Pro/Embedded and Linux.

It's also slightly on the rugged side with a steel encased touchscreen panel. Sporting a slim design with VESA mounts, Habey says the PPC-6512 allows for flexible installation in tight spaces and is ideally suited for home automation control and automatic control of peripheral devices from home theaters to digital signage.
