Now all I need is an app that will locate my phone with the battery dead. Mine's been missing for two and a half weeks.

I always thought of something like an RFID with something to locate it with on your keyring. Like a light that would flash faster as you got closer to whatever you put the RFID on.

that would actually be quite cool.. at the least they could keep a "last known location" and give you the time that it last reported in. Would not help much against theft, but would help a lot in cases where it fell between the couch cushions just as the battery died.

Even the free version of Lookout saves the last known location when the battery runs low. You can view that by logging into your account and get a general idea of where your phone might be. I know that others do it, but Im just more familiar with Lokout.

My Opinion Doesn't Matter.

I don't get it. I've been using Lookout Security and Antivirus that I downloaded on the Google Play Store for years now. It already does all of those things.

Now Android/Google offers the service directly without 3rd party workarounds.

So basically the same functionality as Find my iPhone and BlackBerry Protect. Good to see Google finally adjusting to industry standards.

yes. good to see Google finally implementing that feature that Apple copied from them some years ago... :P (for the interwebs: tone = sarcastic, don't hate me, couldn't resist)
