Brazil ( with s ) is a continental country and rich in mineral and petroleum reserves . Thanks to the current NSA scandal revealed by Edward Snowden , we can say that the greed of capitalists desperate ( especially the USA or uses and abuses ) is real. The Gulf War was not a war . It was a territorial invasion motivated by greed in the oil resources of Iraq . Moreover , after the end of the Cold War , espionage groups were dismantled , and the majority , came to be used in espionage business ( corporations ) . Currently (2013 ) , companies like Google, Microsoft , etc. spy , somehow , for the U.S. government (or allow the U.S. government to use its systems ) . Would , innocent , believe that Canada , a member of the united kingdom (UK ) supporter of the USA , in all its intrusions pretext of something, not actually spied the Brazilian government agencies ( mineral resources ) . Our program for the use of alcohol as fuel only succeed when our scientists dismissed the research line of American scientists muy friends . Another curious fact , all currently use a Brazilian invention stolen by American company : the caller ID . Called in Brazil , by BINA (http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identificador_de_chamadas). In fact, paranoid countries are trying to impose their culture on the Arab peoples (generating hatred and violence on the insurgents). After, September 11, all the major capitalist countries under the pretext of defense against insurgents acculturation; began to violate the civil rights of its citizens and its visitors. If they had the same respect for the other's culture, like the Brazilian people, there would be no wars, no conflict. In a downtown area of the city of Rio de Janeiro (known as SAARA) intended to trade popular live side by side Arabs and Jews, Chinese and Korean. A culture respecting the other. Our people are a people who embrace the other culture (respecting their values).

So when are y'all going to get off your rears and get started on extracting that massive off-shore deposit of oil that was discovered in Brazil's territory a few YEARS ago now?

Perhaps Petrobras should bow out and let the experienced US/British companies come down there and show you how it is done.

Brazil: world's largest hippie commune.

You are wrong. Petrobras is the world leader in oil extraction in deep water. The USA / UK (North Sea) does not hold technology for this type of extraction. The technology was fully developed by the Research Center of Petrobras - CEMPES / island of fundão, Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. In fact, Petrobras sells this technology in exchange for royaties. But the technology is ours. Then, if oil companies from USA / UK wish to explore oil in deep water, they will have to use Brazilian technology (a leader in deepwater exploration).

The exploitation of reserves in deep waters (in Brazil called pre-salt) is a matter of raising funds. Therefore, the operation requires much more financial resources than the common off-shore operations. Unfortunately, some people called first world, they are arrogant and can not cope with the diversity of cultures. Moreover, I have a cousin, Doctor in Chemical Engineering (UFRJ) and employee of the Research Center of Petrobras - CEMPES and one brother, nearing completion of a PhD in Chemical Engineering (UFRN). We last few months (2013) Petrobras held auctions of various areas of the pre-salt oil. Several foreign companies competed. But the technologia extraction is national. Moreover, according to my brother, the oil spill occurred in the Campos basin (state of Rio de Janeiro) by oil Texas (USA), Chevron, was motivated precisely by the same greed in exploring deepwater oil without the right technology. Before criticizing, study more about the affairs of Brazil. To end the matter: type in google search engine, the following words: Petrobras world leader in deepwater. Among other, the various occurrences mentioning Petrobras as the world leader in oil exploration in deep waters. Be, informed .... OK !!! And have a nice day !!!

Brazil is being paranoid, just like any other country that thinks is being spied on [by the USA].

You're wrong (please study more!). The USA has interests and spy on our territory since the 1950s of the twentieth century. The saddest phase of our political history (military dictatorship from 1964 to 1985) was engineered by President Kennedy and his successor (after his death) for fear that the country was transformed into a socialist republic and other interests. Facts available, in the Library of Congress (Washington DC). Even on the eve of the coup, a fleet of ships of the U.S. Navy is positional on the coast of northeastern Brazil (Pernambuco - PE) to intimidate the military authorities to carry out the coup. The coup was carried out on April 1, 1964. However, since April 1st is April Fools' Day, military dictators decided to change the date to March 31, 1964. Another, fact, our system of digital terrestrial television is the most modern in the world (ISDB-TB). It is the result of improved Japanese ISDB done by our engineers. The middleware system, called Ginga, is the best in the world to manage interativade in digital television systems. However, several lobbies were made at the time of implantation aiming to adopt the American standard ATSC stands for (Advanced Television System Committee). Greed in the national market for TV sets and transmitters....

I'm guessing that was a sarcastic remark. Because every country are spying one another. That's why they agencies to do it. Like MI-G, KBG, CIA, and all the other alphabet spy agencies.

Ok, you're using a google service so it makes sense it's going to offer its own products and options first. I would expect the same from Bing and Dogpile. I just don't see any antitrust here. I know how to use other services for price checking.

Why am I not surprised... Brazil's been on a litigation craze as of late. They're even accusing Canada of spying on them electronically... I'm Canadian and I think that might be going a bit far unless they have some evidence to back those claims up.

Well what I've read, this one seem legit to me. How isn't it? If netscape could sue Mircosoft for anti competitiveness when Microsoft use to bundle IE with Windows 98 in the browser wars. Why can't Brazil do the same when it seems that Google is favoring their partners when it comes to web results.
