The way I remember it, a friend of VJ who has power available once in a while.

Of course my ability to remember is not what it use to be, so it could be a friend of staypuffs giving him a hard time.

hmmmm, something fishy is going on here. Those 50,000+ point WUs seem odd.

On the folding forum someone said something about a 25403 point WU.

They take 3 days to run on an 8 core box

You need 8 real cores. Wouldn't make the short deadlines with an i7. You guys would get better PPD folding A2 WUs.

Linux SMP! Go native if you can, or run VMs.

This More Efficient SMP Folding. (VMWare and notfred's) works too.

Would a MB with two Q6600s get these done?

How do you go about getting them if the answer is yes.

I just did some window shopping at the Egg and the only MBs that I could find that took 2 Quads were server boards. Of the ones that I found the sockets were LGA 1366 and 771.

And of course the Q6600 is a socket LGA 775.

The cheapest but not totally crappy MB and twin Quad combo I found was about $700. :(
