Does anyone know any good and FREE video converters to convert from practically any format into another?

AFAIK, there is no single program that that can really be described as 'best', especially not for free, but I'd say virtualdubmod (or one of the other members of the vdub family) really comes close. it can 'read' most formats, and there is a nice array of codecs it can use for transcoding.

I use AnyVideo Converter and it does a good job. Lets you customize the Fps, Sound quality, video size Etc.

MediaCoder. The best video converter I've used so far. Can even convert YouTube videos directly from the URL.
