Hi all,

I am new to Maximum PC. And need some help from you for my first complete custom case. I have done a lot of mods in the past, but only small mods ( adding windows, moving parts ).

I am looking to make a dual motherboard case and I am not sure about the air flow.

First, the reason behind. I need 2 new computer, 1 will act as my HTPC on my HDTV and 1 will be a server for personnal use ( PHP & FTP ). I do not want more case on my desk and was thinking to combine them into 1.

The pink box is a standard kleenex box for size reference ...

The case will be 300x300x300mm, mobo's are mATX 780G with phenom X4. Case will be built with wood and plexiglass.
They grey circle are both 250mm fans http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=38067

One would push air in ( on the CPU's ), the other eject it out.

Do you think it is a living project or is there something I overlooked ?

Welcome welcome.

You can certainly have one push and one pull fan. I don't see any problems there.

haha. Nice idea. for the MOBO trays, you can probably go to newegg and buy a couple of the least expensive case, then pull them from there. that way it'll also give you HDD trays, power buttons, etc. or you can just drill right into it. that would save time and money.

also, to really quiet the thing, you can suspend the HDDs in bungie or similar. I've done that, and you can hardly hear that you have a HDD. or you could get a SSD. up to you.

good idea though. your next step should be an Uber gaming pc built between 2 box fans! 1000mm @ 500RPM. chilly.
