 Post subject: What is the best Internet filter?

Ok so my family has some "issues" with internet temptations. :evil: I was just wondering what is the best filter you can buy? Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks. 8)

What kind of "temptations" are we talking about here?

Most of what you want to accomplish can be done for free with just a little work.

1. Use Malware Domains malware list to block certain sites (Use filter with AdBlock Plus or HOSTS file).
2. Use OpenDNS and configure it to block the "temptations". You can make exceptions for whatever you want.
3. Put them on a standard user account instead of an Admin (if XP).
4. If Vista, use the parental controls.

Those would be my initial free suggestions.

However, what exactly are you trying to block?

Covanant Eyes has 2 different services:
1- It provides a blocker
2- It records visits

It runs at $55 a year for just the blocking, but to have it record what sites have been visited will be extra.
