I've got 3 folding behemoths, and one meh one.

Phenom II 940 (@3.5GHz, 2 Notfred instances via VMWare)
HD4850 with a mild overclock
8800GTS320 on a pentium 4 system

looking to replace the pentium 4 system, centralize the points in the primary computer. Honestly, I can understand getting a GTX 295, with respect to folding, since one of those uses a lot less power than multiple machines...but, since I just have a retail job, I can't really afford that kind of thing.

I also run a single-core client on my girlfriend's dual-core laptop. Why not an additional SMP client, since it's a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo? Because, since it's not mine, I do NOT want to be ruining the battery with heat, so, the processor never breaches 50% that way. It gets a noticeable, but not overwhelming PPD.

Hey Ilander, did you see the option in the system tray client to stop folding while on battery power? you may want to use that on a laptop.

Heres what im running.

-Pentium4 at 3.0ghz w/HT running the System tray
-Pentium4 at 3.0ghz (HT disabled) running console
-Celeron dualcore E1200 at 1.6ghz runs a console client, i upgraded the heatsync and now i think it should be good enough to run two of them (it used to crash before)
-Core2Duo e6550 at 2.33ghz and OC'd to 2.7 in the winter, is running one system tray client, and the 9600GT is running the nvidia client. (this machine gets about 3700ppd)
Athlon XP at 2.08ghz running the Console client

All systems run WinXP Pro 32 bit SP3, with exception to the core2duo machine, which runs x64 XP Pro SP2.

I've noticed a huge difference in the two clients, my P4 at 3.0 without HT gets about400-500ppd running the console client, and barely 200 running the system tray client. thats a pretty big difference.

Also, im formatting my Celeron machine in the next few days and im thinking of going with XP Pro x64, does anyone know if it'll fold any better running a 64-bit OS? Also, i have the issue where two folding clients try and use the same core, one crashes and the other keeps running, anyone know how i can fix that?

Thanks

The pentium M's (each) get ~110ppd on the 225 pt WU's, ~240ppd on the 336 pt WU's, and ~250 ppd on the 749 pt WU's.

It varies.

The GTX 280s (I OC'd the shaders to ~1500MHz) get ~6250 ppd with the 511's  and ~8100 ppd with the 353's :D they also get ~7500 ppd with the 768 pt ones.

Total should be ~23,000-25,000 ppd

Ted

EDIT: every 2 or 3 days I get a big update when they all finish their WU's and I get a new WU for each of them; I have one ethernet cable for all of them.

Not much to spend, pretty tight budget but i'm gonna piece things together all summer little by little. When my system changes i'll post a pic, for now its 2 - 260 216 cards and 1- 9800 card. I still have the mobo i bought here with 4 pci-e slots that i plan on getting running, i had ram for it already and ordered a x3 720 cpu, when that gets here i'll move the 2 - 260's to that, also ordered another 260 but not sure how stable it will be with 3 cards with this psu.

Best of luck to us all in this race, i hope it pushes us all to new heights which will help the team, which will help the cause :D

P.S. I might be in last but i'm coming for you

I currently have:
- a pentium M 1.6 banias core laptop good for like 300ppd
- my PS3 good for who knows, cuz I play on it too much...
- an old P4 that makes less than the pentium M
- my daily use laptop that folds while I am not using it or transporting it @ about 1k PPD
- a GTX 285 in a QX6600 machine making about 11k ppd total with mild OCs since the slightly more aggressive ones I had caused problems over the weekend.
Image
- a Phenom 9600 supporting two 9800 GX2s yet to prove themselves stable in an OC.
Image
I think that is it, though I may have forgotten some 50 ppd machine somewhere.

LOL nice laptops Ted! I have 3 Dell latitude e6500s with core 2 duo t9550s (2.66 ghz) folding on one core for me, and one Dell precision m4400 folding on a quadro fx1700m :)

I have them all propped up for more airflow and they actually don't get too hot!

Buddy get those 260's down to stock, not worth losing em. Will they work at stock or blue screen still?

I oc'ed mine but the point difference aint worth having to watch em 24/7

Remember were in this race for awhile so dont burn nothing up
