I ran across this site and was wondering if it is worth messing with or actually works.

Yeah, it's legit.

I use it when I need to find out what something is.

Be aware that it only scans the file when you upload it though.

Yeah I downloaded something today and tried it out on the site, it said it found a backdoor on 2 out of 41 scans.

I didnt know how reputable the site was or not on that since I know sometimes Ive had my antivirus tell me something was infected that wasnt.

Well, it's not the site itself that you need to worry about.

The site uses several scanners to scan the file for malware. 2/41 isn't that good of a detection, so unless you really think it's bad (or if it is a popular security software), I wouldn't worry about it.

Wel my only concern was if it really worked or not, the site that is.

And yeah I saw it scanning it with different AV programs and it said out of 41, 2 detected a problem with the program I uploaded to scan. Then I scanned the file with my avg and it said it was clean.

Although I am not sure what you meant by 2/41 isnt a good of a detection hehe.

Cause the majority didn't detect anything, it may have been a false-positive.
