W/ the way the monkeys have bad-mouthed you guys (all in good fun, of course), I'm tempted to join.

But when I started folding, I set a goal. Top 100 or bust (on the team, not overall). If you guys are still going when I break the top 100 mark, I'll consider helping--assuming you still need help to show those monkeys who's the top of the evolutionary chain.

But that'll be a long way away at 28k PPD or so...

WE are the top. Always have been, always will be. You may outproduce us for a while, but when your collective is nothing but dust on the side of the road, we will remain. See, it's not our PPD that makes us special. I'd tell you what makes us special, but then I'd have to kill you.

and as asked before in this thread, is there a goal for this joint operation? I am working on a long term goal of 1 million by the next CC so I can tell certain folders to stuff it in their asses. I am willing to participate in a short term collective for a goal, but otherwise, even the monkey's fold under their own names. If I am not mistaken. But it's early an there are lots of hours left in the day for me to be wrong!

wtf, the avatar restrictions are awful! I haz a pic I want to use, and I have it whittled down to 80x60 and 1.24 kb and it still says it's too long? grrr

I think the only goal is to be able to challenge the Monkeys, if only for a short period of time.

Individual points go out the door once you join a collective. The only time that would be an issue is during one of our many contests. You would not be able to enter on points, as there would be no way of telling how many points you were generating. You can add a new piece of hardware, send a picture in, and that counts as an entry.

The monkeys all fold as one. I *think* staypuff has a few rigs going in his own name just to check/verify/tweak ppd, then he'll switch them over.

To get a million points in one year needs a little under 3K ppd...I think you'll get there well before next years CC....but telling your teammates to "stuff it in their asses" might be a little lacking in team spirit.

oh yeah an newbie1kenobi why would you think it was a team mate I was gonna tell to stuff it? Anyway, it's a running joke between me and another user/member that I didnt have enough points or experience to have an opinion, and I am on a mission to prove him wrong. It's all in good fun, and it makes ppd for a cause.
For what it's worth, my estimates bring me to 1million in just under 200 days I know I will be able to make it by the year goal as long as we have a quiet hurricane season this year in Florida.

Anyway, like I said, the million goal was a personal challenge, and it will certainly make a point to the person I am talking about, and as far as I know he thinks it is as funny as I do. Or at least the last time I talked to him he did. Ya never know with him

It is indeed somebody here, an he knows it. I flat out dared him in irc one night. We are on a fairly good basis now. However, I made the statement to him, I was gonna hit 1 million before the next CC to prove to him I did deserve an opinion on what a TEAM should do. As the entire conversation had been about how so much of the 11108 team didnt participate in the chimp challenge. He correctly pointed out that I was new, and had no real basis to say anything about lack of team effort. Now, I am fixing that! lol its all fun, and meant that way. He kicked me in the ass, and pointed me in the correct direction on several things. Hell, I actually kind of like the guy now. But, dont tell him. Let's just keep that a secret between us

Just be careful on how you present your "opinion" to your team. Last time didn't go so well, so hopefully lesson learned.
